“Ford and Facebook engineers got together for a 24-hour “hackathon” to explore ways to socially-enable the car through the in-car connectivity system, Ford SYNC. Using both the SYNC AppLink and Facebook sets of APIs, engineers were able to develop a series of ideas for consideration, such as the car automatically “checking in” on Facebook, or the driver being able to listen to a friend’s music stream, or the ability to have the car post driving achievements, such as fuel economy, on the Facebook Wall.”
